Introduction

The genus occurs on the eastern slopes of the Andes from Colombia to Bolivia. Most specimens have been collected while drinking from streams or moist gravel roadbeds. All of these are males, and females are rarely encountered. Immature stages unknown (Miller, 2009).

Characteristics

Wings broad and triangular with white markings on a dark ground color. Highly-developed forewing stridulatory organ and corresponding short discal cell in males (short discal cell in females, as well). Quadripectinate antennae as in Dioptis and Xenomigia (Miller, 2009).
