Medium to fairly large salticids living in vegetation; the northernmost members of a neotropical group.

Members of this subfamily tend to have a very snappy but fluid jump.

Three species north of Mexico.

Identification

The most distinctive characteristic is the set of four bulbous setae on the underside of the first tibia. The male palpus with a double tibial apophysis is distinctive. Note also visibility of anterior gut diverticulum in ocular quadrangle.


Habitat

Vegetation-dwelling.
