Introduction
The spartaeines are unusual salticids that lie phylogenetically outside the largest group of salticids, and thus are considered to lie near the base of the family. Along with the lyssomanines they lack many of the derived features that mark the bulk of the family (the Salticine Division). The group was reviewed by Wanless (1984).References
