Comments | The Florida Panther is a local, critically endangered subspecies of mountain lion. It is thought that there are fewer than 50 of these animals remaining. Recent introductions of a close cousin, the Texas panther, are already thought to be successful in enhancing the gene pool and improving the Florida panther's chances of survival. |
